Safety First

One of the many challenges for any employer is to ensure the health and safety of their employees.  In this regard The Cleaning Command is no different than any other company big or small.  Work place safety has rightly become a very important part of everyday life.  Employees should know that whenever they get to the jobsite they will be working in a safe and healthy environment regardless of what type of work they do.But how do you, as an employer make that happen?  After all, no matter how much you supervise the job site there are always situations where people can get injured.  I can’t speak for any other company out there but I can tell you how we at the Cleaning Command look after the health and safety concerns of our staff.Safety is a cornerstone of our company vision.  Our safety manuals and safety plan are audited and up to date.  But having a safety manual doesn’t do a thing if it isn’t read, and implemented by everyone involved.  All our jobs require a Hazard assessment and our staff are briefed on the hazards and possible problems before starting work. Our onsite supervisors have had a hand in developing our safety standards, making the workplace as safe as possible. All our equipment is well maintained and changed out when needed, not left to fall apart before being replaced.  Our inventory of cleaning solutions are as green and environmentally friendly as possible, making them safe and easily handled, and the MSDS sheets for all our inventory are available to our staff and customers on site.  PPE is provided when necessary and is required for all jobs big or small.  This is especially true for Post Construction Cleaning where safety boots and hard hats are among some of the items required to work.We also ensure our Workers Compensation Insurance is up to date and that any of our staff that does have an accident is covered and looked after not only by The Cleaning Command but by WCB as well. There are a lot of Mom and Pop cleaning companies out there, many who hire only family as staff or pay their staff under the table.  They may be cheaper than the Cleaning Command, but often they do not have any safety plan or equipment in place to ensure their workers’ health and wellbeing.  Imagine your problems if they have an accident while working on your property.  The health and welfare of our employee’s is one of the cornerstones of The Cleaning Commands corporate culture.  It should be part of yours as well.
